Rebuild

“So they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.”

Job 2:13 (NKJV)

I recall my best friend in grade school, repeatedly getting picked on. It hurt my heart to see him torn down. I made sure I was at his side to give him a shoulder to lean on. One day, he was incredibly proud of a tower he had built with blocks. The bullies came by and knocked it down. I could do nothing. I sat by his side, and we rebuilt it together.

God places people in our lives to help us pick up the pieces. We never have to suffer through anything alone. The fellowship central to our faith is such a gift because we have brothers and sisters ready to lift us up. Just as Job’s friends sat with him during his time of need, God brings people into our lives. “No one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.” Being there was enough.

Pray that God will surround you with powerful fellowship in your life.
