“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
My wife has a stuffed animal that she has cherished since she was a child. It has always been a faithful companion to her. Sadly, the years had worn it down to where the stuffing was coming out, and the threads were bare. It was wasn’t going to last much longer.
We often find ourselves like this beloved toy. Time has worn us out, and we are barely hanging on by a thread. We need restoration. It feels like we can never be our previous, vibrant selves again.
I found a service that restored my wife’s stuffed friend like new. It was like she always remembered it to be. The threads were new, and its colors vibrant again. In the same way, God brings restoration to our life. He takes the broken pieces and puts us back together again. We are brand new: “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”
All we must do is seek the gift of salvation that Jesus so freely offers. Then, restoration will come to us.
